Building Lasting Resilience in School Leadership

In the fast-paced world of independent schools, stress is unavoidable—but our response to it can transform how we lead and live. This extended workshop offers time and space to step back, reflect, and build resilience in ways that are sustainable for the long haul. Through research-informed frameworks, guided reflection, and practical tools for the mind, body, and heart, participants will learn strategies to manage stress, sharpen focus, and strengthen social connections. With expanded time for discussion and practice, attendees will craft a personalized resilience roadmap to bring balance, clarity, and strength back into their work and daily lives.

Megan Bounit

Megan Bounit is a seasoned educator, systems thinker, and lifelong learner committed to leading with equity, empathy, and innovation. With over two decades at the intersection of technology and education, she currently serves as the Technology Officer at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, MA, where she guides strategic planning across cybersecurity, infrastructure, instructional technology, and data systems. Megan brings a unique blend of instructional experience, systems leadership, and facilitation expertise. She holds CETL and TLIS certifications and has presented nationally at ISTE, MassCUE, CSTA, AISNE, and Tech & Learning. Her ongoing professional learning includes advanced study in social-emotional learning, meditation, yoga, yoga nidra, and nervous system-informed leadership practices. She has previously worked in public, charter, and independent schools, including Wellesley Public Schools, Prospect Hill Academy, Park School, and BB&N. She also served on the MIT Media Lab’s Scratch Team, bringing constructionist learning to life. Megan holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Bryn Mawr College and an M.Ed. in Technology in Education from Lesley University. Megan is not only a strategic leader — she is becoming a presence-based, healing-centered one. She is currently training to become a certified teacher of Instinctive Meditation and expanding her studies in yoga and nervous system healing. She believes this work is essential — not just for individual well-being, but for the collective health of our schools and communities. She understands the physiology of stress, the emotional currents that move through teams, and how to foster environments where people feel safe enough to belong, stretch, and grow.
