The Association of Technology Leaders in Independent Schools will hold its annual gathering of IT and edtech independent school leaders on April 14-17, 2019, in Dallas, TX. Our conference theme is "Deep in the Heart of TECHness." This convergence of independent school technology professionals is the only conference focused solely on the independent school technology community.

Don't miss the first day of the conference. Sunday, April 14, will be packed with Deep Dives and Bootcamps, culminating in our opening keynote by Dr. Ayanna Howard.

Dr. Howard is the Linda J. and Mark C. Smith professor and chair of the School of Interactive Computing in the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She also holds a faculty appointment in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Professor Howard’s career focus is on intelligent technologies that must adapt to and function within a human-centered world. Her work, which encompasses advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), assistive technologies and robotics, has resulted in more than 200 peer-reviewed publications in a number of projects – from healthcare robots in the home to AI-powered STEM applications for children with diverse learning needs.Prior to Georgia Tech, Professor Howard was a senior robotics researcher at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. She has also served as the associate director of research for the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines, chair of the robotics Ph.D. program, and the associate chair for Faculty Development in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech.

Along with with a packed schedule of sessions, exhibits, and more, we include on Monday a Featured Keynote by Dr. George Siemens, known as the founder of Connectivism.

Dr. Siemens researches technology, networks, analytics, and openness in education. Dr. Siemens is Professor and Executive Director of the Learning Innovation and Networked Knowledge (LINK) Research Lab at University of Texas, Arlington. He co-leads the development of the Center for Change and Complexity in Learning (C3L) at University of South Australia. He research has been supported by NSF, SSHRC (Canada), OLT (Australia), Intel, Boeing, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Soros Foundation. A founding President of the Society for Learning Analytics Research., he has advised government agencies Australia, European Union, Canada and United States, as well as numerous international universities, on digital learning and utilizing learning analytics for assessing and evaluating productivity gains in the education sector and improving learner results. In 2008, he pioneered massive open online courses (sometimes referred to as MOOCs).

The conference hotel is equidistant to both DFW Airport and Dallas Love Airport. Each airport is approximately a 20-30 minute drive, depending on traffic. The usual transportation sources are available at both airports.

Hotel parking is available at a discount at the conference.  


Substitutions and/or transfers of registration from the same school may be made any time prior to the conference for a $25 fee.  Contact Susan Davis to make arrangements for a transfer.  Substitutes that have not submitted their request in writing must check in at the event registration area to ensure that they are not billed as an additional attendee.

Cancellations by January 6, 2019 will receive a full refund, less a $50 processing fee.

Cancellations between January 7 and March 15, 2019 will receive a 50% refund.

There will be no refunds after March 15, 2019.
